Can we share notes with others?
Without the 'sharing' feature, Evernote is not in real network.
Single person's evernote resource is always limited.

@Todd and Tauren

In order to (pretty much) just clip a URL, just select a single letter on the page of which you want to keep the URL before clipping.

As this does leave you with a random letter in your note, it is probably more meaningful to select some descriptive text from the page.

There's just one big problem with the ATOM export function - it decreases the pictures drastically. Which means that pictures that need to be big, like diagrams, becomes useless!

Is there or will there be a way to get around this big issue?

Thanks!

The importer worked very well indeed with the structure and content, but all my foreign language characters with diacritics were turned into ?'s. Hopefully the actual code of the character came along with the import so that Evernote can display this later?

I agree with many of the other comments -- there are several EN issues that make me reluctant to switch. I'm not saying I don't want to switch, as I really, really WANT evernote to be the tool I use. With just a few enhancements, it could meet my needs.

The feature I use most with GN is the saving of just a URL, not the content on the page. When I bookmark a page in this way, I typically specify the notebook it should go in and add a short comment. I like how GN remembers the last notebook I used and makes it the default.

Within a GN, I combine similar items into sections. I'm not sure if EN would support this, since I don't think it has heirarchical tagging. And I don't want to have too many tags to have to pick from.

I'm using Linux primarily. It really sucks that there is no EN support for Linux. I can understand the reasoning (not as big a user base), but it does force me to use the web client. And the web client is not as fast or fluid as the GN interface is. Which makes switching not a very appealing idea.

The GN firefox plugin is great. I'd like to see an EN plugin that has similar performance and capabilities.

Thanks for all the good work! And congrats on the funding and award!

I was wrong - the bulleted list issue isn't a Google Notebook import problem, it's a bug in Evernote. You can't have multiple levels of bullet list. ARGH.

There are a couple of bugs I've found with the importer.

1) If any of your text has angle brackets (like if you have a notebook with HTML or XML snippets), these come through as ACTUAL HTML or XML in the note... meaning they're basically lost. You have to manually copy/paste the text from Google Notebook to get that in.

2) If you have nested bullet lists (a bullet list with more than one level) everything gets imported at one level so you have to go back to your Google Notebook and update your Evernote notebook based on what levels the bullets should be.

I'm another Google Notebook user, and I want to switch to Evernote. I signed up for an acccount and tried it out, but there are a few things I need to see improved before I can fully switch.

One issue I have is that the Firefox extension is extremely sluggish. Also, it doesn't offer any way of viewing the contents of your notebooks. A couple of other people mentioned these same issues in their comments.

Another consideration is that I often use Google Notebook to just clip URL's. Many times, I don't need to save the contents of the entire web page. In Google Notebook, this can be done in two clicks and is FAST. However, there appears to be no way of doing this in Evernote. So instead, I'm stuck viewing a stored version of the page with garbled formatting.

Hopefully, you folks will consider addressing some of these issues in future updates. Thanks!

I am able to download my google notebook as a DOC but if I select atom, I get an error telling me my notebook is deleted or unavailable. Has Google taken down the Atom option?
