Put your home’s room dimensions into Evernote. This way, whenever you’re out shopping and come across a perfect leather chair, area rug, or piece of wall art you won’t need to worry about whether or not the piece will fit. Launch Evernote and the answer will be waiting.

I want to have such things..
the thing is .. Evernote does not support draw and sketch functionality..
Its painstaking to go to other programs, make a sketch and paste it in evernote..
Why dun u guys integrate a sketch functionality right into evernote, simple shapss, objects, arrows, paint brush

But don’t stop with room dimensions, include scans or photographs of furniture, fabric patterns, paint chips, floor coverings, etc.

    Re sketching:

You don’t need that in Evernote, do the sketch in any app you like and then just covert it to PDF (intergrated in to the Mac or download free PDF converters for windows) and then just drop the PDF in to Evernote :-)

I did this with a bunch of rooms in my apartment when my wife and I went shopping. It worked great.

You can also use the reverse approach and write down the sizes/prices of furniture while at the store to take home and measure out while deciding :)

Geesh people, just draw on a piece of paper & take a photo of it for inclusion in Evernote. No software needed. Simple (especially if you have an iPhone).

I created the sketch with Skitch http://skitch.com/. It’s extremely easy to use.

You could also use a free room planner software from http://www.floorplanner.com/start

    and then upload the pictures.
