    My Evernote Wishlist

I love Evernote so much but the more I rely on it as a serious tool for storing my digital life on, the more I need Evernote developers to stop chasing fanciful Google Chrome and iPad functionality and go back a step and close some core functionality gaps. Evernote is a mind blowingly powerful productivity tool. For a moment, please can you stop worrying about getting an ‘app’ out for the latest gadget and concentrate on core features that make Evernote bulletproof.

    1. Remote wipe – it’s happened to me already. Lent laptop and realised this machine had a shared user profile. Would love to have had remote wipe feature. Easy to do. Just Log onto website, request Remote Wipe. Pop up with random keycode. Then when any Evernote client syncs it becomes corrupt if the correct keycode is not entered. When I contact tech support, their best suggestion was to delete account and let it sync to blank!

    2. Secure login when opening client feature – as above scenario, option to force login on client. Simple check box on client. Password already stored to allow syncing. Should be easy.

    3. Bigger permitted file size – competitors allow 250mb, more storage per month (premium or create super-premium). Online storage is competitors only advantage. They have very poor tagging and clipping etc. Evernote can easily compete on storage functionality by just adding more space.

    4. Real sharing – please get that phase 2 rolled out. Remember your core promise. Share everything across all platforms. Web only sharing is a gimmick. Biggest wish is to allow more precise permissions on files and folders to allow sharers to do all or either view, edit, delete and add notes. And for all shared notes to be seen inside sharers accounts not just linked. The idea is we are all looking at the same notebook but depending on your permissions you see/edit/add/delete different notes.

Elliot thank you for the suggestions.

    Andrew,

You mention in this podcast that you keep your tax returns in Evernote and you’re not worried about the security issues (ex. SSN, salary…). Assuming you have the tax forms as PDF, why not open the PDF in Preview (Mac Only), save it with as an Encrypted PDF (enter a password) and then at least you have the PDF itself protected, no?

Miles, that’s a great suggestion. Thanks.

    Reminders?

    Reminders for Evernote notes?

I would definitely consider going Premium with reminders for notes. But they would have to be full-featured reminders, i.e. the ability to buzz you on your computer PLUS be able t send an email out to you, so I could even send it to my phone using the phone’s text/email address.

Also, can the Leon and Heather customer service house boat travel down to Lake Erie?

I use ScanSnap with Evernote and LOVE IT.

I love evernote too. It has enormous potential to help organize my crazy life. I just want to be able to use evernote on my ipad without it crashing (unusable) and to be able to edit a note on my droid that was created with my mac. Evernote has acknowledged these issues, but has not released any fixes yet.

When can we expect updates to ipad, mac, and android applications?

Hey, i like your podcast, any chance it will be available through the android app in the future??

    thanks

Well I definitely couldn’t survive without Evernote. I am 150% more organized, my life is seamless – as an entrepeneur you often have to move between work and personal quickly, and I actually use the tool to clip while creating mockups for my apps, I then store and share the mockups from Evernote. I love the idea of an all-inclusive workspace. I would love to see some optional addons/ extensions/ widgets built for Evernote ie. To do list, pdf drag & drop feature, maybe a calculator… There are so many options. But first, just more memory! I fill up to soon and find myself chaotic until I can refresh… Tx!

The Evernote Offshore Support Vessel will not be traveling to the cold, cold, north of Lake Erie any time soon.

However, the Land Support Vessel may be in the area later this summer. Keep your ears on upcoming podcasts ;)
