Introducing: Evernote Meetups

Our Notes | By Andrew Sinkov

In the world of social everything, Evernote is a bit of an oddball. As Phil (our CEO) loves to say, “We don’t care about your friends. We don’t care about your friends’ dogs. We care about you and what’s in your head.” So true.

One of the challenges (read: exciting opportunities) that comes with not being an inherently social app is the need to make everyone aware of all the great ways to use your product. That’s why we blog, tweet, tumble, youtube, facebook, podcast, email, and now…meet up!

Evernote Meetups are here!

Starting today, you’ll be able to meet fellow Evernoters in your area, share stories, swap use cases, learn new stuff, and, most importantly, have fun. This is all thanks to the brand new Meetup.com Meetup Everywhere platform. Join an Evernote Meetup now »

Evernote Global Meetup day: June 23rd

To kick off our new program, we’re organizing a single-day meetup event in multiple cities around the world on June 23rd. To join an existing meetup or start a new one, visit our Meetup Everywhere page. It’s all completely free.

How to schedule a meetup

Meetup.com is incredibly easy to use. Simply go to the Evernote Meetups page and join an existing meetup or click the Schedule a Meetup button to create a new one. Your meetups can have themes, guest speakers, conversation topics, or be completely free-form. They can take place at coffee shops, watering holes, parks, wherever. It’s all up to you. How exciting is that!

Special delivery

Every meetup with over 20 participants will receive a special gift containing stickers and other awesome Evernote stuff.

What happens after June 23rd?

After June 23rd, you will be free to create your own meetups anywhere, any time.

So if I use an alias on Facebook, and a different alias on Meetup, but have used my real identity for Evernote, can I still sign up via Facebook or Meetup?

    • Andrew Sinkov

Evernote and Meetup are not linked.

  • James

Is there any meetup in Ireland. i live in the west Galway. What should the meetup theme be?

    • Andrew Sinkov

It doesn’t look like we have any in Ireland yet. You can be the first! The theme is up to you. It’s just an opportunity to meet your fellow Evernoters.

  • Jeremy

I’m thinking about a meet up in Mountain View. Would the Evernote team be up for a local one? Are you guys sick of La Fiesta yet? Or St. Stephen’s?

    • Andrew Sinkov

Jeremy, a bunch of us will be at the SF Meetup
