Introducing: Evernote Meetups

In the world of social everything, Evernote is a bit of an oddball. As Phil (our CEO) loves to say, “We don’t care about your friends. We don’t care about your friends’ dogs. We care about you and what’s in your head.” So true.

One of the challenges (read: exciting opportunities) that comes with not being an inherently social app is the need to make everyone aware of all the great ways to use your product. That’s why we blog, tweet, tumble, youtube, facebook, podcast, email, and now…meet up!

Evernote Meetups are here!

Starting today, you’ll be able to meet fellow Evernoters in your area, share stories, swap use cases, learn new stuff, and, most importantly, have fun. This is all thanks to the brand new Meetup Everywhere platform. Join an Evernote Meetup now »

Evernote Global Meetup day: June 23rd

To kick off our new program, we’re organizing a single-day meetup event in multiple cities around the world on June 23rd. To join an existing meetup or start a new one, visit our Meetup Everywhere page. It’s all completely free.

How to schedule a meetup is incredibly easy to use. Simply go to the Evernote Meetups page and join an existing meetup or click the Schedule a Meetup button to create a new one. Your meetups can have themes, guest speakers, conversation topics, or be completely free-form. They can take place at coffee shops, watering holes, parks, wherever. It’s all up to you. How exciting is that!

Special delivery

Every meetup with over 20 participants will receive a special gift containing stickers and other awesome Evernote stuff.

What happens after June 23rd?

After June 23rd, you will be free to create your own meetups anywhere, any time.

I will organize the meetup here in Mesquite. However, for future reference, Wednesday night in Texas is church night for many, many people (probably true for a lot of other places, too). I’ll be picking a different night of the week for future meetups.

Thanks for letting us know. We’ll keep that in mind for the future.

Looking forward to organizing the DC meetup and there’s a good response for a particular venue. How do I add that to the meetup? Or is that something you are working on?

    • Andrew Sinkov

Patrick, looks like you’re the DC organizer. Click into the meetup, then click the edit button. That will let you set the event location. Have fun!

  • Patrick OBrien

Well, it helps if I log in first. Chrome must have timed me out. Thanks Andrew

Are there any Evernote user groups meeting at TechED the first part of June?

  • compris

Hi I just discovered Evernote today and I like it. I downloaded it for the Desktop and the Firefox addon but I have a BlackBerry Cell Phone Curve 8330 and I don’t think it is avialable for this model yet so I hope it will become available very soon. I also plan on attending the Evernote Meetup on June 23rd in Los Angeles.

Because I notices a meetup venue at Saint-Herblain (Nantes suburb, in France). However, it seems I am the only one to have subscribed. I rather change the venue to our Chateau de Bois-Briand Orangerie (, a great place where we will be happy to host for free this great Evernote “meetup”.
Who should I talk with to achieve this proposition?

NB:/ we could even host the meetup at Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers ( which is my workplace

Looks like I became the Organizer for the Columbus, Ohio Evernote MeetUp.

(This is why you don’t click on random links 🙂

Anyways, I look forward to hosting it in Columbus, Ohio. We have a large conference room, big screen monitors and lots of Internet bandwidth at the Downtown Technology Center at

Looking forward to it. It should be fun and educational.

I’m a big EverNote fan. I’m also a Meetup fan. I already run six Meetup Groups. Why use EverNote Meetups? What is the difference? do I save the fees charges me if I switch my meetups to be through Evernote?

    • Nikita

      Hi Mark,
please let me know if you get the answer on your questions (Why use EverNote Meetups? What is the difference? do I save the fees charges me if I switch my meetups to be through Evernote?). I would love to have a better understanding what’s the difference.
      Thank you in advance.

So has anyone thought of what to do at their meet up?

  • Eric Delalonde

Please, help! When I left my name as a potential participant/organiser for a Nantes Evernote MeetUp meeting, I received an email explaining that I was, now, the manager for this event. When I started using Meetup website building tools I was asked for a paying subscription to Meetup services…
I thought this was a free service offered by Evernote to its clients in order to help them create local fans groups. Is there anything I did or understood wrong? Thanks, anyway, for your great services. I use Evernote to (help) building the new Silk Road between France and China together with the National Railway Companies from Kirguizistan, Kazakhstan, Ukrainia, Latvia, Poland, France, …. (This comment refers to a European Commission funded Project launched by French SNCF (Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Français) and CNAM (Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers).

    • Ron Toledo

@Erik There is no payment associated with Evernote Meetups. It is a brand new program on that allows individuals such as yourself the ability to organize Meetups in your area around a specific topic (Evernote). Thanks for volunteering as an organizer. We wil contact you with more information for next steps to make your Evernote Meetup a success.

So if I use an alias on Facebook, and a different alias on Meetup, but have used my real identity for Evernote, can I still sign up via Facebook or Meetup?

    • Andrew Sinkov

Evernote and Meetup are not linked.

  • James

Is there any meetup in Ireland. i live in the west Galway. What should the meetup theme be?

    • Andrew Sinkov

It doesn’t look like we have any in Ireland yet. You can be the first! The theme is up to you. It’s just an opportunity to meet your fellow Evernoters.

  • Jeremy

I’m thinking about a meet up in Mountain View. Would the Evernote team be up for a local one? Are you guys sick of La Fiesta yet? Or St. Stephen’s?

    • Andrew Sinkov

Jeremy, a bunch of us will be at the SF Meetup
