Comments on: Evernote now available in the Mac App Store

I want to use Evernote but I will not make an app store account. Seriously, I’m not going to register a home address and verify my email in order to use software. This should be between you people and me, apple shouldn’t need to be involved. I don’t mind buying it to avoid that step, I’ve opened a support ticket to see if that’s possible.

Adrian, the download link is here: https://www.evernote.com/about/download/mac.php Also, you can keep old versions of Evernote, but they will eventually stop syncing.

This (old) blog entry says that Evernote will “continue to have a version for download on our site for those that like getting their software the old-fashioned way.” The link provided takes you to a page where the ONLY option is to download via the App Store. What happened to being allowed to download software without having to log into another provider’s system to do it? Not only does the App Store install fail for me, but Evernote itself is now dead and gone, somehow having committed suicide on my desktop and both laptops. Do versions expire if you don’t upgrade? It’s suspicious to me that three systems had Evernote turn into the unhappy “no such object” icon on the same day.

I now only have Evernote in the cloud. On my iMac OS X 10.5.8 Evernote will not run. Neither will the uninstall program sent by Evernote. Now, Evernote tech service won’t even answer my e-mails. Any help?

Does anyone know why Evernote would need so many threads? Showing up as 34 threads on OSX Lion (i just have the app open, no notes added yet, just idle)…

I have installed for safari fine on one machine, not on the other. both are new and have all updates. firefox wortks on both. tried with Evernote Safari Clipper Plugin 119502

The script is not the way to go. I look forward to them implementing a “monitor this folder” feature.
