Evernote Web: New Multi-Select Lets You Move, Email and Merge Notes Fast

Product updates | By Andrew Sinkov

I defy you to try the new Evernote Web multi-select feature and not smile a little.

It’s very straightforward to use. You can now select specific notes by clicking as you press CTRL (Windows) or CMD (Mac). Then, drag the notes into a notebook or to a tag. You can also merge, email and delete the notes with a single click.

As you select the notes, watch as they visually stack on top of each other like a pile of photographs in your note pane. Right beneath the animating notes, you’ll see the multi-select options, which let you quickly organize, tag, move, and delete batch notes. These concepts will be making their way into our desktop versions in the not-too-distant future.

Check it for yourself by signing into Evernote Web.

I really like evernote but to be able to use it properly I’d like to be able to:

    1 Copy a note
It would be great to be able to copy a note then produce a modified version, or maybe merge a set of notes.

    2 Drag and drop editing.
I just want to select some text then move it to a new location. That’s pretty standard with most software these days!

3 I’d like to be able to print out the whole notebook, or maybe a list of the notes in title or snippet format. I simply cannot do this at the moment!

    This could be a great product . . . .

I’d like to email my evernotes from my HTC android phone. Can I do that? JHD

I was hoping that Evernote would have a move email function to transfer groups of emails into Evernote for searching and quick finding. Or if there’s any way to batch move emails from Gmail directly. MoveMyEmail.com seems like they could do it, but don’t have a Gmail solution yet. Is this something you might develop?

Does anybody know how to merge docs on the app version? (iPad)
    Thanks

As people use Evernote more with more notes in it there really needs to be a way to select a range of notes (shift). If I want to move 125 notes to a new folder I have to cmd select each one?

  • Rick

I agree with Mark and other commenters that there needs to be a shift+click option to select more notes than having to cmd+click each one.

This is possible in Evernote for Mac and Evernote for Windows Desktop, but is currently not supported in the web client.
