Evernote Clearly Arrives on Firefox

Product updates | By Andrew Sinkov

Today, we have some great news. Evernote Clearly, our browser extension that creates a beautiful online reading experience for blogs and articles, is now available for Firefox.

Install Evernote Clearly now »

How it works

When you come to a site that you’d like to read, click the Clearly lamp icon in your browser bar. The page is transformed—all distractions are removed, leaving only the content you want to read. Then, once you’re done, click on Clearly again and you’re back on the regular article.

Imagine getting through an article without clicking on a bunch of links before reaching the end. Now you can, with Clearly.

Save it to Evernote
If you don’t have time to finish the page you’re reading, click on the Evernote icon in the Clearly sidebar to save it into Evernote. In Preferences, you can also set a tag that will be associated with the pages you clip.

Multi-page clips
If you click Clearly on an article that’s broken up across multiple pages, Clearly will put everything into a single, long page.

Themes
Clearly arrives with three attractive built-in themes: Newsprint, Notable and Nightowl. If you’re a fan of customization, you can make your own by going into the Preferences.

Enjoy!

By removing distractions, Clearly makes reading online truly pleasurable. Enjoy.

    Very nice!

One thing: pls forward the Clippings to the FF-Evernote-Addon.
Then its possible to add tags, choose the notebook, clip all or just the url.

Are there any predictions for when you’ll get your extension working under Safari 5.1+ again?

    Thanks.

Great to see this finally available for Firefox as well. It’s working great – almost replacing two different services for me!

Now if I might add a couple suggestions – so that clearly would be able to completely replace both Instapaper and Readability for me:
    1) It’d be great if I could import the links I’ve saved to Instapaper into Evernote – in the same, content only, format as results from Clearly.

    2) Please allow me to choose the notebook to which Clearly saves pages.

    3) It’d be awesome to be able to use Readability’s system for supporting authors with Clearly, is this possible?

Keep the great work, I can’t imagine myself not using it anymore =)

This is a fabulous extension that I’m using all the time (and not just cause that’s ME in the example article!). Great work.

Awesome! I am a shameless “browser nomad” who constantly switches his primary browser back and forth between Chrome and FF (FF is winning at the moment). While using FF, I really missed this extension so I Googled it and voila.. it was ready!

    Thanks so much Evernote!

Nice add-on. Please make it available for Opera also.

Of course, readable bookmarklet works well in Opera browser. However, clearly is more finesse.

      Use normal browser – Chrome/Firefox …

Evernote folks: Clearly is BRILLIANT! Another great tool – my Evernote crush grows bigger everyday, even after 5 years of using evernote.

One suggestion: Add a context menu item to display a story in clearly. When using an aggregator, I click twice: once to open the story, another to view in Clearly. One step would make this sweet.

Thanks again for another great tool.

Today, the application is not found. What happened ?

Clearly leaves me a bit suspicious. This plugin appears to be doing “something” constantly–using CPU–even while your browser sits idle. Try it, look at you CPU with *Clearly*, then disable and see if your CPU don’t get some rest.
