Anticipation of the new iPad has become a happy annual tradition at Evernote. Each time Apple gives fans something new and exciting to work with and this year is no exception. The faster processor, fantastic camera and beautiful display, all make for a better Evernote experience.
Our new iOS update (4.1.9) features a number of great features for both iPhone and iPad, and just in time for the new iPad, we bring you full Retina display support! Let’s take a closer look.
We’ve been hard at work upgrading all of our graphics and interfaces to look beautiful on the new tablet. Every aspect of Evernote is sharper, crisper and more vibrant. We can’t wait to get our hands on the new iPad to see it for ourselves.
Better checkboxes and text editing on iPad
In this update, we made significant behind-the-scenes improvements to text editing. You’ll notice that the note editor is much more responsive and reliable than in the past. We also enhanced checkbox behavior to work more like lists—they now support indentation, and new lines created after a checkbox will automatically insert a new box.
We’ve also addressed a handful of text editing issues on both iPad and iPhone, including spacing at the start of a note, and the ability to select text by tapping on it.
iPad and iPhone: Suggested Note Titles
In our last iOS update, we added a really cool predictive note titling feature that suggests a title based on calendar events, location and note contents. We’ve now taken that one step further. If you tap on the auto-title, additional suggestion will show up. As you type your own title, a matching lists of previously used titles appears. This feature is great if you tend to reuse the same titles, or if you want to stay consistent in your note titling.
In addition to the new features and improvements, we’ve also addressed many of the causes of those annoying sync errors and made a ton of other stability and reliability enhancements.
We’re really looking forward to hearing what you think of the new features and our new retina displayed-optimized look. Let us know.
