The CamScanner app has a version for Android as well. Works great for taking a snapshot of notes, whiteboards, book pages, etc. CamScanner then lets you easily rotate and crop it if necessary and then it automatically cleans up the image to make the text sharp and easy to read. The result is saved as a PDF file which you can send directly to Evernote from within CamScanner.

IPhone has an app CamScanner. This takes a picture of a page in the textbook and adjusts to the quality of scanned document.

If you format the date in your note titles as YYYY-MM-DD (e.g. 2012-04-18 for April 18, 2012) you can sort by title, and get a de-facto date sort as well.
