I agree Damian and would direct people to look again at Ayatomo’s last two sentences: “For those just starting, I recommend saving anything that comes to mind. How that content becomes useful will become apparent later.”

Indeed a utilitarian post. Love the way the iPad has been stuck to the fridge.

While we have been using Evernote now for 8 months, it is NOW all over the place. The idea of putting everything into a general notebook and then segregating it by use, sounds like a good suggestion.

Could you share more how you are organizing kids’ school notes and textbooks?

Great post. I wish I had had Evernote when my kids were little. But I have used it a lot to keep track of my college age son’s information. When we got ready to take him off to campus for the first time last fall I used Evernote to organize all the packing and shopping lists, housing details, expenses, booklists, etc etc. NOw if I could just get HIM to use it…..

Great blog post — I am forever encouraging my daughter to put her children’s “everything” into Evernote. It simply hasn’t “clicked” for her yet.

Side note — Belkin makes an iPad holder that is made for the refrigerator and holds it very securely. I would be terrified to tape my iPad to the door of my fridge!

I use a lot of these same functions – scanning the kids’ school work was the single greatest time-space saver I’ve done in the last 5 years! Not only do I have EVERY assignment, note, report, etc., but I no longer have boxes full of papers taking up space in closets.

I would love to learn more about using Evernote as a photo storing and sharing option (especially on a Windows / Android platform). I’ve tried a couple times, but Picasa seems more efficient.. Anyone else out there using this successfully and willing to share some ideas?

Excellent blog post. I’m a father-to-be, and will try adopt some of these practices for my parenting!

Thanks especially for highlighting the EverPicture app. I wasn’t aware of it, and it looks really good. I always thought Evernote could be an ideal tool for housing my photos, but there was no real easy way of displaying, managing and presenting them, ala Picasa or iPhoto. With so much free storage space, Evernote is begging to be used for photo storage.
