This creates major tag bloat.

It has created a new tag for every number and then every name attached to that number that I SMS with. That is hundreds of tags and I have no obvious control over this.

I would prefer a single tag (that I chose the name of) for all SMSs notes and then but the name & number in the title of the note.

As it is I cannot use it.

Can you use the service without a smartphone?

I know that may sound silly, but I have a feature phone. I can’t install any apps, but it gets text messages, and it can go to mobile websites.

That is true on the iPhone. On Android, mysms captures all text messages, even if the recipient is not using the app.

Hrm… what happened to my comment about the app creating a new notebook just for its data, and how frustrating that is? I thought this was a place for feedback.

Interesting… it looks like a good app and I’d like to try it, but if I kept every app that I’ve tried that creates a dedicated notebook in my Evernote file, I’d have 20 custom named notebooks.

It seems that only new texts are stored in Evernote. It would be nice if you could get older ones stored also. Or am I overlooking something?

I may have just missed it, but I don’t see anything on the mysms website about pricing or how they pay for running the service. If they don’t have a business model, why should I trust them with my SMS data?

Can this work with Tiger Texting? The awareness training we provide includes a piece on cyber stalking and a service called Tiger Texting. I wonder if this new Evernote capability (mysms) could be used to protect those who are stalked and harassed by abusive partners since saving texts its a challenge.

And that is why I won’t install it. I am tired of apps that integrate with EN forcing me to use their custom notebook. It is as bad, or *worse* than apps on Windows that create a folder in the Documents folder. Thanks for the heads up as otherwise I would have installed it, found a new notebook, then had to delete the notebook and uninstall the app.

Nice idea and I’d like to give it a go, but not until I can configure a notebook of my choosing and the tag(s) I want.
