After three exciting months, the deadline for Devcup 2013 finally closed this past Friday, July 5th. This week begins the next stage of our annual developer competition, where we will work to determine the winners of the various prizes and awards available. Today, we are excited to announce part of the judging process, the opening of public voting for the People’s Choice Award.

Your Chance to Stand Out

The People’s Choice Award is your chance to mobilize the community and help a worthy app stand out. Over the next month, the Evernote team will work to determine apps fit for our category awards and a spot in the final round of judging. But, your input matters as well. It is hard not to notice those apps with broad support–public voting is your chance to bring the best submissions to our attention. Moreover, the public voting process brings more attention to Devcup submissions and provides useful feedback to these ambitious teams.

Favoriting a hack.

So, join us on the Devcup submission page and voice your welcomed opinion. To cast your vote, please click the “Favorite Hack” button at the bottom of each submission. You can also vote for as many apps you would like. Note: You must have a Hackerleague account with a verified email to vote.

Furthermore, help us find and promote these popular submissions. Push out your favorite choices via the #Devcup hashtag on Twitter or Facebook  Join in on the Evernote Forums to promote your choices to our loyal community members. We are ready to see which apps stand out the most among the Evernote community.

Devcup Judging

Mark your calendars, because next month we will announce the first round of awards for this year’s class of Devcup participants. In addition to the much coveted People’s Choice Award, we are offering several other category prizes as well. At the beginning of August we will announce the lucky category winners, each of which will earn a ticket to our fall conference.

Come August 16th we will have two new Devcup awards to share. First, we will announce the six Devcup finalists. Two members from each team will be flown to our conference in September, where they will pitch their apps to our audience. Conference attendees will vote for the top three apps, which will each receive a generous cash prize. In addition, in mid-August we look forward to announcing up to six members of our first Accelerator Class. These teams will be provided a month to join the team at the Evernote HQ in Redwood City, CA for an intensive incubator aimed to help their apps become viable products. Learn more about the Evernote Accelerator here >>

Thank You!

The Evernote Devcup is not possible without a strong community. Each year we are pleased to see more passionate developers and designers help build an increasingly diverse ecosystem of Evernote compatible apps. Congratulations to everyone who successfully met the Devcup deadline, which is no small feat indeed. And, thank you to those who have followed us along the way here.

Stay tuned for more exciting news throughout the summer!
