Hey Gang, I am a huge fan of Evernote (Mac, iPhone) and of the blog. I wanted to share a tip that I hadn’t seen anywhere else around here-

I use Evernote with my own brand of GTD and one thing that bugged me was the lack of notification ability. When I think of something I need to do in the future, I don’t want it in my “Next Actions” folder and I don’t want it to get lost in “Projects” so-

I use Google Calendar and I’ve setup my alerts to be emailed to my Gmail account. When I want to remember something in the future, I just create an event in GCal with an alert. Then I setup a filter in Gmail to forward all emails from “Google Calendar” into my Evernote “Inbox” notebook. That way they show up exactly when I need them. Works great with birthday reminders etc.

    Thanks for the great product!

Regarding the Linux port, while a native version would be great, the Windows version works quite well under Wine with no configuration required.

Great podcast (or, blogcast; will you tell us why?)! Thanks for answering my question; hearing it again, I guess I misstated what I wanted to know: I was wondering if you had considered allowing extensions for the Evernote applications. There are a few small features I’d like to see in the clients that are more just application features than service features. With an extensions API, third-party developers could add things like filters (think, like Gmail), auto-tagging, etc, kind of like Firefox.

@Andrew8088 We do have an API. Take a look: http://www.evernote.com/about/developer
