I’m very happy to report that Evernote just raised $10 million in our “B” round! The lead investor is Morgenthaler Ventures, one of the deans of Silicon Valley venture capital. Troika Dialog and DOCOMO Capital, our “A” round investors, participated as well.

What will we do with the money? We’re going to invest it into making our product better: more platforms, more features, and more polish (we’re working on Polish, too, along with Swedish, Japanese and a dozen other languages). We want Evernote to be your trusted, permanent and ubiquitous electronic memory. This investment gives us the runway to get there.

I’d like to thank our team, who’ve worked amazingly hard to build one of the brightest companies on the Internet today; our investors, for giving us their trust; and, most of all, our awesome community of users. Your voice has helped guide our product, and your enthusiasm for Evernote was a critical factor in our successful fundraising.

Thanks for finding us and thanks for sticking with us. We’re glad you’re along for the ride!

Read about this site through an RSS feed alert, sure lots of others are coming to it thinking great service however it is not simple to get the phone software downloaded!

Might be worth investing the money into something to enable mobile web browsing so users don’t quit before they have started. (Was using windows mobile os 6)

  • mariano

Congratulations. As a writer and researcher I find Evernote invaluable for recording and tracking ideas. Keep up the good work.

  • Myke

Congrats! And please…for the love of God…use that money to make a Linux version! Thanks.

  • Ryan

Awesome! I hope you meant a native android app when you mentioned more platforms! Please!

  • Artem

Hooray! I love your product, own premium from the second glance and use it every day. I’d love to see more progress in development.
    Congratulations!

  • SonofGroucho

    Well done, guys!

  • Guntis

I still don’t get in what way Evernote is better than DEVONthink Office? That 40MB limit a month is also very small, and I don’t see why I should spend money for notes syncing. Maybe I still in the 20th century? :-/

  • Jonas

I can’t wait for the Android client to get here so I’ve put in suggestions for every line of text in Pootle for my native language.

  • xbeta/善用佳软

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!
I do like Evernote. I have used it for many years but even more now since I own premium. I still have to learn to be organized…..

  • Vista Cheng

    Congrats!

    I like Evernote very much.

    from Taiwan

  • Takeshi

    Congrats, Phil and guys!!!
Can’t wait to see the JP version in action!!!

  • James

Nice job guys! I rely implicitly on evernote for my PhD research on a daily basis, and you have never let me down (and made me look awesome by letting me email people quotes in tutorials and access stuff on the fly). Here are my votes on how you should spend your money:

    -Sub-Folders within notebooks
-Linux Client (seriously, if you played your cards right you could practically get it written for you!)

  • Kunal

Congratulations folks! The product is very good, and deserves all the support it can get.

  • Vladimir Campos

    Congratulations!!!

I love Evernote and would like to give you a suggestion. Please, please, please, integrate TextExpander touch to Evernote on the iPhone. Typing on the iPhone is not that cool and TextExpander touch can make things much, much easier!

  • Caleb

Congratulations! I can’t wait to see where you guys can go with the help of this.

My short list of wishes would be:

    1. Android client (please!)
    2. Sub-sections (tabs) in notebooks
    3. Ability to insert a link to another note
    4. Self-defined note sort option (drag and drop, when date, alphabetical, etc won’t cut it)

Thank you, and keep up the good work!

  • alex

Maybe you can use part of the money to develop a linux version.that will be nice

  • Rkortez

Congratulations! Awesome app — exactly what i needed and very easy to use!!!

  • Steve

Congrats! I use it on Windows and Mac but would like to see linux client as well.

  • Marc Thomas

That is fantastic news on your investmen, hopefully this will help take Evernote to the next level in this competitive field.

  • Jimmy

Congrats and as always…PLEASE work on that Linux client!

  • Andrew H

Great, I could use a linux version.

  • limqingru

congrats guys, awesome product there, glad you had more funds to scale.

  • Kyle

Please spend some of this $ improving basic text editing. Your software is just barely useable, worse than tinymce even, but is prone to obvious catastrophic failure (and there is no way to directly edit the html). Examples, inability to unbold frequently, inability to unindent if pasting indented content etc etc etc.

  • Awesome-O

Add another voice to the “Linux client please” choir. If you guys implemented a native Linux client, you’d outflank Microsoft’s OneNote by being the only true cross-platform note agent. After all, it’s not like Microsoft is ever going to write a native Linux client!

  • Phil

A real Windows Mobile client that allows local storage of notes…

  • Chris

Hi. Love the product. Your support link doesn’t work for me. How should I contact you with questions or suggestions?

  • Miguel

Congrats from another astonished user (MAC and iPhone platforms).
All the best, see you daily ;)

  • Tony Treacy

Congrats guys – Can’t wait for the linux version.

    Tony

  • ooi

Excellent! Hmm… i’m waiting for symbian evernote for a long long time. hopefully, symbian client will launch soon.

  • notafish

Congrats! I’ll add my voice to the “please think of us Linux users”. I’ve been waiting for ever to change to Evernote fore real!

  • Tay

Kul .. n keep up the good wk !

  • shanesh

    Congrats Guyz!!

  • Sima Sahar Zerehi

I wish that you were available in Farsi (Persian) – new media tools are one of the only ways that young people in Iran can keep connected and build a resistance movement against the regime. A tool like Evernote would help a great deal in storing files, links, blogs etc. Particularly since the current government makes a habit of shutting down progressive blogs and online newspapers.

  • Sima Sahar Zerehi

I wish you were available in Farsi (Persian). New media tools are one of the only ways available for people in Iran, particularly young people, to get their voice out and build a movement for social change. The challenge is that government censors actively shut down progressive blogs and online publications, a tool like Evernote would go a long way to help keep information stored in order to re-start a new blog if you get shut-down.

  • kris

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!
I do like Evernote. I have used it for many years but even more now since I own premium. I still have to learn to be organized…..

  • Giorgio

    Congratulations, you earned it.
Now give us the Linux version pretty please.

  • Miguel

Congrats! I’m a relatively new user of Evernote and it has been growing on me since day 1. I dropped MS OneNote in favor of Evernote because it is a superior product and platform! :)

  • Mike

I second the Linux version comment! I love evernote but not having a Linux client (Web just isn’t the same) is a drawback.

  • Joe Cassara

Very exciting news. I hope some of that cash is budgeted toward the Blackberry app team. The app needs some TLC!

  • Junge Mode zu besten Preisen

    Congratulations.

that makes it a bit easier to reach your goals.

    wish you the best luck

  • Nauka Jazdy

    Well done, guys! Congrats!

  • Moe777

    Thats awesome!!!

  • Sena

    Wow…thats awesome!!!
maybe you can use it for donating … its just my advice
i’m waiting for new great features

  • Mark Joyce

I couldn’t agree more with all the previous comments and with the blogpost, of course.

Evernote is a great application, so easy to use yet that powerful. But you know, you become the best improving yourself every single day… so I’ll be glad to see new cool features ;)

    Keep it Evernote!

  • Sascha

So you raise 10 million and still ask your users to translate Evernote for you, free of charge, without even offering the translators something back? Like a free premium upgrade for those who translate for you…? Shame on you, Evernote.

  • football tips betting

Really agree with what you are saying here. I am uncertain if I would do it though :)
