Today, we released an update to Evernote for BlackBerry (3.4) that addresses some of our most heard user requests. We’ve improved the app’s interface, simplified filtering, made sync three times faster, and lots more.

Improved home screen

We’ve revamped the home screen to make it easier to see which items are selected. The screen now has better colors, an easy-to-see grid and clearer text labels.

Choose your notebooks

You can now filter the Notes screen to show you notes by notebook. This is great for quick browsing. To switch between notebooks, tap on the green bar along the top of the list and choose a notebook. All the notes will instantly filter.

Better appending

When appending text to complex notes, you can now see the content of the note just below the text that you’re adding. This way, you can easily reference the content of your note in what you’re appending.

And much more

You’ll also notice that synchronization is significantly faster and that text throughout the app is easier to read. For those looking for a more compact view, the newly redesigned List View shows many more notes on a single screen than it has in the past. These are just some of the many improvements that we’ve made to Evernote for BlackBerry. We hope you like it.

  • Federick Wolfe

  • Mr O

    i really like evernote.
My fav app on my Ipad

But the Evernote Hello is a bit farfteched to use ( I think)
Would prefer to have som “bump” thing to share contct info

good job on the evernote 🙂

I tried to dwnld this new version (3.4) for Blackberry but the site appworld.blackberry does not have this version, it has version 3.3.356. When will it be updated?

    • xavier.delplanque

There is apparently an issue with the availability on the App World. We are working on that to fix it shortly.

  • Roger Mike

Wow, great job on the update. Evernote is my fav. app on my BB. On the other hand if I could get my hands on that Sensation XL, I’d throw my Blackberry out the window! 😛

  • Ruth Hoffman

Same as JacevesL: BlackBerry App World only has 3.3.356, not v. 3.4. Hungry for it! When will it be available? The updates sound wonderful, and I can’t live without EN!

This is one of the BEST apps going for my phone, it’s is priceless. If you ever dropped support for BB I’d probably have to leave the OS and go to an Android or iPhone (neither of which I want to do). That said, it is a real frustration to have this “announced” and yet it (V 3.4.0) does not show up in App World. Suggestion, hold off on the PR until what you say you’ve introduced can actually be had.

    • xavier.delplanque

The app appears as available on the web but not on mobile.
We’ll make sure to solve this issue shortly.

    • xavier.delplanque

you can download it here in the meantime:

In app world online, or via my phone, it shows up as version 3.4, but it won’t let me download it either. My guess is it is the usual BB app world “verification” lag or whatever. I’m going to try to un-install it, then install it and see if that works.

  • CeeJay

Nope, still didn’t work. Probably just a goofy app world thing.

    • xavier.delplanque

We have resubmitted yesterday and we’ve been told that it should fix the problem.
In the meantime, you can download the same app here:

    As Bob L said… IT’S NOT THERE!

  • Micah Stroh

Same issue even today with not being able to download 3.4 from AppWorld. When I click on the link provided here on this post it says 3.4 is version available. However, I have to login to AppWorld before I can download. Once I do that the version it says is available is 3.3.356. I downloaded it a couple times to make sure, and it is indeed 3.3.356 that gets downloaded.

    • xavier.delplanque

      also available here:
until we fix this issue on App world

  • Rich

If you can’t see the new version in App World yet, you can download it here. http://discussion.evernote.com/topic/22544-evernote-for-blackberry-34-beta-3/

So I’m still stuck on 3.3 and from the notice that its now up to 3.4 where is the love for OS7 devices (9930 here)? I really don’t know if its RIM/AppWorld to blame or Evernote. I would like to think that EN would supply an external link to download the app, but again that’s if OS7 is supported under 3.4 like it is for 3.3.

    • xavier.delplanque

9930 is supported, and you can download the app here in the meantime:

I agree with Bob L, I recently upgraded to a BB and knowing that Evernote was on it, made my decision easier. I also did not want to go to Android or iPhone .. the Evernote app is a strong deciding factor. However, it’s the 18th and I still do not see the new version .. can something be done to get it there quicker ? Thank you

    • xavier.delplanque

We re-submitted the app yesterday, it’s been approved and we’ve been told that it should fix the problem. In the meantime, you can still download the app here:

      • CeeJay

        Wicked cool. Thanks!

      • Alfidio V

Thank you, found it on App world, very happy over the changes !! cheers

  • Don

WOW! HUGE improvment. I love Evernote! On my Playbook, BB, Laptop, Desktop….

  • Yoram

Can’t seem to change the settings. the application is not responsive to the trackpad commands…

    • Yoram

xavier.delplanque > still having issues changing settings. I can’t select any of the pre defined options.

      • xavier.delplanque

If you are speaking about the display setting in the note list, we are working on this issue and it should be available soon.

      • Yoram

  • Will

Thanks for the update! The app was unusable before but performance and sync have improved enough that my BB doesn’t crash under the load. Great app for a great service.

    • xavier.delplanque

Thanks for the feedback! That’s very nice to hear.

  • Loimori

It’s nearly perfect now..Only problem is it’s still not lightweight and the notes loading very hardly on my poor 8520 curve..Maybe it’s ok for newer mobiles but It would be great to experience lightweight version of it in the future..Thanks for the updates..You guys are great..

  • marc

This program always has to sync data, would be great if we can have some data on SD card for non premium members like Android users.

  • Astral Projection

    Thanks for the update 🙂

  • Tattva Vit Das

Waiting for Evernote Hello on BlackBerry. I’d really really love that!

  • Mark McIntyre

Anyone having sync issues? I create notes on my Blackberry, I get notified that sync was completed, but they do not show up on my computer.

  • Garry Janzen

How do you edit a note in Evernote on BlackBerry 9800?
