Maps

Sometimes there’s more to tell about a location than you can express with an address alone. To make it easier to do this, Maps have made their return to the picker view in 3.0.4, helping you quickly get everyone pointed in the right direction. Sharing an annotated map is great for showing party guests where to park or for planning your route on a hike. Just search for your location, then use any of Skitch’s annotation tools to mark it up with the details.

Evernote Settings

In this update, it’s much simpler to configure the way Skitch sends your images to Evernote. You can now set a default Evernote notebook while you are signing into the app with your Evernote account information. It’s a nice way to handle all your Evernote setup at once.

If you want to change your default notebook later, your Evernote settings are all grouped under a new Evernote section in the app settings, making them easier to find. Changing these settings lets you save any Skitch image you want to reference later to exactly the right place in your Evernote account.

Open In…

We’ve added an exciting new feature to this release that makes sharing your Skitch images with other apps on your phone more seamless. Choosing the Open In option in your sharing menu lets you send your annotations directly to any installed apps that accept images. Use it to shoot a quick bug report to your coworker over chat, or share fun images with a friend in a social app.

More Tools

A new overflow menu has been added under More Tools that includes some especially useful features to help you make your message clearer. The biggest of these is Crop, which lets you quickly cut the excess out of your image to focus on the content that is most important. You’ll also find Clear Annotations in this same menu, which lets you start over fresh by removing all your annotations at once.
