Market Spotlight: Slim Wallet by abrAsus

Productivity isn’t just about getting more done. It’s also about eliminating anything that might slow you down.

This is one aspect of how we approach design at Evernote, and it informs both the evolution of the app and development of products in the Market.

The Slim Wallet by abrAsus, reflects this philosophy perfectly. In this case, the design question at hand is which details define the perfect wallet. One that fulfills its practical purpose and, equally important, makes you happy every time you look at it.

This process isn’t quick. For the collaboration with Evernote, abrAsus founder Kazushige Minami’s design team put the Slim Wallet through dozens of iterations, with each round refining the design to its essence.

“At Abrasus, we focus on making products that we really want ourselves. We make a sample, test it, create another sample, and repeat 20 to 30 times until we are satisfied that it’s the perfect product that we had in mind.”
-Kazushige Minami

We don’t offer a multitude of products in the Market, only a short list of thoughtfully considered ones we think will help you work smarter and live better – that’s our mission.

Here’s a peek at some of the little details we think make this wallet noteworthy.

The Art of the Fold

Unlike many wallets, which feature bill compartments that are stitched on three sides, the Slim Wallet is open on two sides, making it easier to discreetly browse your bills.

Card Carrying

This wallet fits a surprising number of cards while maintaining its slim profile — and lets you smoothly remove and replace them whether it’s open or closed.

Pocket Change

A coin pocket is elegantly tucked into the center fold of the Slim Wallet, allowing space for small change.

This looks like a great product. I don’t carry a wallet as they are usually to bulky but I would use this product. Great work Evernote.

I’m sorry, I don’t care HOW cute, handy and slim it is, I’m NOT spending $99 for a wallet!

Who cares if you can or want to spend $99 on a wallet. Great products coast some money. My wallet had a price of $350 so what?

My concern is that cards will fall out of the pocket designed to hold them. What keeps them secure?
