    Hi Taylor…

How about a keyboard shortcut to launch Clearly in FireFox for Windows?

  • Mike Wills

I Evernoted the Evernote blog post. 🙂

    • colette

I’m about to do the same, I came looking for that comment 😀

  • Anton Sheihman

    And the web version?

  • Love Android

When is this coming to Android? It’s so unfair that this isn’t available on Android. Market share, no more premium. Oh, it’s not about iOS. Sorry.

    • Robert

This is available on Android! The keyboard shortcuts listed here are for the Mac & Windows desktop versions that are used on PCs & Macs. Given your silly question, it is easy to see why you are an Android user.

      • George

Wow. Really? So why can’t iPhone get more than a third of the users that android phones enjoy? Apple products are for kids…

    • Al Mint

Looks like the next biggest thing isn’t here.

    • Steve Paul

I’ve seen this in other blogs, so I know that I’m not alone in this: We really need a better HIGHLIGHTING option that doesn’t require two hands for the short cut (cntrl + shft + H). It’s easier to use one hand and select with the mouse. Also, we really, REALLY need a highlight lock option. For those of us that go through hundreds of pages highlighting all the time (as I do), this would double the speed that we could do it easily. You guys are all about productivity, right? Whoever codes this one will be my new best friend. Promise. 🙂

      • Taylor Pipes

This is great feedback, Steve. Thanks for taking the time to write. Have you tried the highlighting option with the Evernote Web Clipper? If you are going through many pages of content that you are finding or researching online, this is a really quick way to get highlights. Highlighter tool: When the Web Clipper detects text on a page, the cursor becomes a highlighting tool. To highlight text on a web page, simply click and drag the highlighter cursor across text on a page. To remove highlights, hover over the highlighted text and click the ‘X’ — learn more:

        • Michael Rowe

This is all fine and well if you’re saving the note through Clearly but what about having highlighting for notes that you’ve already saved / saved through another service? Once the note is in Evernote you can’t add highlights. Or am I missing something?

    • Steve Paul

Oh, and I’m replying here because I meant to mention to Love Android that Evernote is available via the Play Store. Works great with Android. Not sure if that’s what you were referring to.

  • Kyle

Is there a way to get Ctrl + Shift + B to work when Skitch is installed? Trying to start a bulleted list results in a new blank Skitch.

  • John Cooper

Thanks for the list! BTW, you have ⌃ ⌘ N for “Create a new tag” — but it should be ⌃ ⌘ T.

    • Taylor Pipes

John, thanks for the eagle eyes on that shortcut! We have fixed it in the blog post. Stay productive out there!

  • Claire

    On Windows Desktop:

CTRL – ALT – V should read paste from WINDOWS clipboard.
    Happy editing!

    • Brandon

Ctrl + V works just fine. No need to press alt. Ctrl + C to copy.

  • Thomas Komair

Is there a shortcut for navigating the history?

  • Laurie Meyer

I’m using the web version on my Surface, and the search function does not find ANYTHING!

  • Michael Cox

I too wold like to see the Windows version of these.

  • Michael Cox

oops! I just didn’t scroll down far enough /-:

  • Blake

I regularly use the “date stamp” keyboard shortcut in the Windows client. In the past I used Shift-Alt-D but I recently learned Ctrl-; (semicolon) works which I prefer.

  • omer

You have a ‘Mac’ comment in the windows section. Love the shortcuts.

    • Taylor Pipes

We fixed it. Thanks for reading!

  • barbara

How about a shortcut to email a note? Especially since the icon was removed from the top and hidden two layers deep in the menu bar.

  • Craig

How about a hot-key to differentiate between a WEB copy link and an EVERNOTE copy link?
Something more explicit than holding while using the mouse.
    PLEASE !

  • James Dvorak

    This is awesome!

  • dorava

These jumbled symbols to memorize are supposed to be “easier” — hahahahaha !!!

  • Amy

Great post! I am the biggest fan of the screen capture mode.
I believe there is a typo in both “Collect Everything” sections. I believe that “Aditionally” should have two Ds (“Additionally”). Thanks again for the fantastic post.

  • wayne

How about shortcuts to navigate tags and notebooks My tags are getting out of control and scrolling takes forever. How about if I want tags that begin with W, I press W and it takes me to the tags that begin with W instead of scrolling through the entire alphabet.

  • Samantha

Is it possible to use Evernote in a way that it’s not seeking network connectivity? I use multiple VPNs simultaneously and can’t alwsys offer a good (uninterrupted) network signal. Thanks!

  • Joshua

Hey, is there a working shortcut for Mac to start a bulleted list? Cmd + Shift + U doesn’t work, even though I’ve seen it in blogs.

    • Taylor Pipes

There is. Highlight the text for your list and then use Command + Shift + U

  • Joel

Nothing to do with this post, but I’d like to see an excel-like function so I can run simple formulas in an Evernote note, like sum a column.

  • Emily

I have lecture notes in Power Point that I dragged and dropped into Evernote but they won’t open. What am I doing wrong?

    • Taylor Pipes

There may be a few solutions for you to try in this thread from the Evernote Forum.

  • Henry

Hi Love Android, Evernote has been on Android for years, I use it on my Motorola Droid and Windows daily.

  • lmffdo

how about an “undo” button for when you accidentally delete a paragraph or other text/data

  • benjamin

How about a shortcut to get back the old penultimate? Still very upset.

  • Sue Wilhite

In the Mac list, you name screen capture but don’t list the shortcut (I think it’s cmd-shift-3). And, in both the Windows and the Mac versions of that shortcut, it’s “additionally” with 2 D’s.

  • Steve

How do I input location for an entry?

  • John H

    Totally just WebClipped this… haha.

    • Taylor Pipes

Now, that is the way to go!

  • Larry

There’s an error in the article: on the Mac, option-command-5 doesn’t go to Atlas view; it opens the Market. Option-command-4 goes to Altas view.

If I didn’t know better, I’d think you were trying to sell us something!

    • Taylor Pipes

  • Marsha Hayward

I logged onto the notice about the tips for Evernote….thinking it would be super.
Instead I received only info about MAC computers.
Is there not info about PC computers as well?

    • Taylor Pipes

Marsha, this blog post contains shortcuts for both Macs and PCs.

      • Dwight

Windows shortcuts are here. It just *seems* like they are not because (1) you need to be pretty eagle-eyed to notice where they start and (2) even in the middle of the Windows section it’s talking about the Mac clipboard (of the several errors previously reported, this is the only one not yet fixed) so the whole Windows section comes of as an afterthought. Apparently Evernote is mainly for Apple users 🙁

        • Taylor Pipes

We fixed that in the post, thanks for pointing it out.

  • Denise

    I always use the insert date shortcut – that’s Command + Shift + D.

You can edit the format for the date in the preferences panel.

  • Curt Wohleber

On Mac: ⌥ ⌘ 5 takes you to Evernote Market, not the Atlas. ⌥ ⌘ 4 gets you the Atlas.

  • Jack R

    Everything was for Mac. ???

  • marge

What happened to Skitch? I can’t find it anymore!

  • Alfred Weil

I love these on the Mac, but I have to use Windows for work. How about putting Ctrl W on the Windows version to close a note.

  • Bette

Please consider making this a downloadable doc – or better yet give us a “save to Evernote” button so we can have these shortcuts at our fingertips.

    • Taylor Pipes

Bette, you can use Evernote’s Web Clipper to save this blog post right into your Evernote. Give it a try! It’s one of our favorite ways to instantly capture Web pages:

  • Susie Heron

Would it make sense to add a ‘Make Shortcut’ option so everybody could use like macros or short script to accomplish their individual requirements? Is that possible? Something with simple programming templates that could be filled in to create what you want?

  • Leila

How do you search for something in the title of the note only?

    • Taylor Pipes

You would search with the following operator “intitle:” This performs searches within the title of the note.
Example: intitle:coffee searches for notes whose title contains “coffee”

  • Scotty

Is there a shortcut for ordering pizza?

  • Daniel

You missed one very important shortcut. Win + A – create new note with highlighted text.

  • David McDonald

Hi, what about a shortcut for ‘show all notes’ in the Windows desktop version?

  • Mike

Could all the reply’s be dated.

  • Joshua Belisle

Yay 2 more shortcuts I didn’t know before! I love you Evernote!

    • Taylor Pipes

Thanks for the shout-out, Joshua! Glad you found some more shortcuts useful in your work.

  • Laura

I’m on a mac and I need to unbind Command+ctrl+v from Evernote or I can’t paste special in excel with my keyboard. This means I shut down Evernote and don’t use it. I pay personally for Evernote so this is super aggravating. Please help.

  • Martin Packer

No shortcut to add a row or column to a table on OS X. 🙁

  • Dhruv

When I create a new note on windows with ctrl+N I’m placed in the body portion of note instead of the title. How can I reverse the behavior?

  • Tom

Sorry for the noob question, but what on earth is the this symbol “⌃” or this one “^” ? Is that the same symbol in two different fonts? Either way, I’ve never seen either one in my life!

  • Hernan

Hi! How can I do focus to note list for Windows?. I’m in the Search bar, and I want to go with a keyboard shorcut a the note list, for do not use Mouse. Thanks very much!

  • Taswir Haider

I have started using Evernote recently and very soon it has become my top productivity tool. I manage to note down my business ideas, to do list, important tasks, information and even my upcoming business tasks everything to Evernote. It has made my life more productive.

  • David Lloyd

I frequently need to insert a paragraph break in order to add notes or references or credits after a pasted article, but no matter what I do, anything I attempt to add after a pasted article is inserted retains the formatting of the previous paste. I need to be able to insert a break character that eliminates all previous formatting from that point of the page on down, and need this feature all the time. I continually waste hours of time finding ways to work around this glitch. Even if they would just provide access to the underlying HTML, I could format things as I wish!

  • Alexa

I love shortcuts and use them for ToDoist, but the global shortcuts in Evernote don’t seem to work for me. Please help?

  • Bill Cooney

Upon changing from Win7 to Win10, in Chrome the keyboard shortcut “WIN-PrintScreen” no longer opens screenshot. Instead I need to open the Web Clipper extension and select Screenshot for this feature to work. The separate Evernote is still set for that shortcut to work. Am I missing something or is it a Win10 glitch?

  • Pratik shah

how do i add clipped screen shot to note? or bookmark to note?

    • Pamela Rosen

Hi, Pratik, Thanks for writing in! Your best bet to get technical questions answered is to send a tweet to @EvernoteHelps, which is staffed by customer support professionals. They’ll be happy to answer any questions you have. -Pam R
